Cotter Schools 870-435-6171 serve approximately 670 students in grades K-12. The school district covers 35 square miles and also serves the families who reside in Gassville and Whiteville. The school employs approximately 48 teachers and has a teacher/student ratio of 1/13. Annual expenditures per pupil are $4,153. Students of Cotter High School have recently ranked at the state average on Stanford Achievement Tests and score above the state average on ACT tests.  

     Expenditures on athletics are less than half the state average, $31 per student.

United Community Resource Council

     Another resource which is useful for education professionals and parents of children has been provided by a group of area social service providers to help people who need specialized help contact those that can provide the help. 

     The United Community Resource Council is composed of twenty-four area organizations working to bring together a wide variety of services for residents of north central Arkansas. Their Web site, www.twinlakescommunity.org, was created to provide a comprehensive, accurate Web site, linking area, state and federal resources. 

     This site is especially useful for school counselors, teachers, ministers, volunteers, social workers, nurses, physicians, employers, neighbors, family members, friends and those in need of assistance.
